Here's how to get from Newark-Liberty Airport to Times Square by public transit, which is cheaper than a taxi. Step 1: take the Airtrain from the terminal to the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station. Step 2: at the Newark-Liberty International Airport train station, purchase a one way NJ Transit ticket from EWR to Penn Station New York and take any New York City-bound (eastbound) train from there to New York Penn Station. A one way ticket on NJ Transit from EWR to New York Penn Station will cost you $15. Step 3: at Penn Station, follow the direction sign to the New York City Subway. Take the uptown (northbound) #1, 2 or 3 subway lines (Red Line on the subway map) from Penn Station to Times Square. The fare on the subway is $2.25 one way. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck Native New Yorker

The best way would be to take the AirTrain to the Newark Airport station for the New Jersey Transit Northeast Corridor Line/North Jersey Coast Line to Penn Station, New York. From there, take the subway (the 1, 2, or 3 trains) 1 stop to Penn Station. The cost would be $15.00 for the NJ Transit train ticket (includes the price of the AirTrain ticket) and $2.25 for the subway, for a total of $17.25. Another way would be to take the New Jersey Transit #62 bus to Newark Penn Station. From there, get on the New Jersey Transit Transit Northeast Corridor Line/North Jersey Coast Line to Penn Station, New York. From there, take the subway (the 1, 2, or 3 trains) 1 stop to Penn Station. The cost would be $1.50 for the #62 bus, $5.00 for the NJ Transit train ticket, and $2.25 for the subway, for a total of $8.75. A cheaper way would be to take the New Jersey Transit #62 bus to Newark Penn Station. From there, take the PATH to the World Trade Center, walk to the Cortlandt Street station (it is only open northbound, in the direction you need to go), and take the R train to Times Square. The cost would be $1.50 for the #62 bus, $1.75 for the PATH, and $2.25 for the subway for a total of $5.50. These were listed, not just in the order of costs, but also in the order of the amount of time each trip takes. If you are willing to pay more money, you will save time. However, if you don't mind taking longer, you can save on the fares. Hope this helps.

59 West 46th St is located near eastside of 6th Av. Cheaper way require transfer: Step 1: Look for GoBus#28 Stations outside airport. If you cannot find it ask airport officials. Step 2: Make Sure to take GoBus#28 that says Bloomfield Station via Broad St Station, not Newark Airport-North Area. Step 3: When you board GoBus#28 via Broad St Station, paid $2.20 to get a free transfer. Step 4: Take this to Broad St station. Step 5: Cross over to Broad St station, where you see Newark City Subway. Step 6: Take Newark City Subway straight to Newark Penn Station. Transfers count as validaded ticket, so you do not need to stamp. Step 7: Then get on PATH which is $1.75 one way. Step 8: Take PATH to Journal Sq for 33rd St train across the platform. Step 9: Take uptown (B)(D)(F)(V) to 47th-50th Sts/Rockfeller Center and use rear exit at 47th St. Please note starting, Sunday, June 27th, weekday (V) service is replaced by (M) as part of MTA Service Cut. NYC Subway and bus fares are $2.25, and if you're planning to stay for while, buy Unlimited MetroCard at subway station, not at PATH. Faster way: Step 1: At passenger terminals, look for orange New Jersey Transit Ticket Vending Machine and purchase one way $15 ticket to New York. $5.50 Airtrain fee is included in ticket. Step 2: Take Airtrain Newark to Newark Liberty International Airport. Step 3: Then switch directly to New Jersey Transit's inboud Northeast Corridor or North Jersey Coast Line into New York Penn Station. Step 4: Then paid $2.25 one for subway or purchase Unlimited MetroCard. Step 5: Follow sign to (1)(2)(3), where you could take uptown (1)(2)(3) from 34th St-Penn Station to Times Sq-42nd St. If available, exit at 44th St/Broadway, by 42nd St shuttle Track #4, which will take you 2 blocks south from your hotel.

Find an Express Bus connecting JFK to EWR http://www.panynj.gov/CommutingTravel/airports/html/ken_connect.html#jfkewr

The best way to get from JFK to Newark, NJ will be train, not bus like the last post said. Here's how to get from JFK to Newark. Step 1: take the Airtrain from the terminal to Jamaica Station. Please listen for the announcement "Station D: Jamaica Station." Step 2: at Jamaica Station, purchase a $5 MetroCard from the MetroCard Vending Machine, and exit the Airtrain system into Jamaica Station. The $5 will be deducted from the MetroCard, when exiting the Airtrain system. Step 3: Once thought turnstile (faregate), follow the directional signs to the Long Island Railroad. Purchase you're LIRR ticket from the ticket machines on the pedestrian bridge overlooking the platform. An off peak ticket from Jamaica Station to Penn Station is $5.75. If you're arriving on a weekends, you can purchase a CityTicket for $3.50. Once you purchase your ticket, look at the display board on the pedestrian bridge for the train heading to Penn Station. Step 4: at Penn Station, exit the LIRR train and follow the directional signs to the NJ Transit Concourse. Purchase a one way ticket from New York City to Newark and take either the Northeast Corridor Line or the North Jersey Coast Line from Penn Station New York to Newark Penn Station. The one way fare is $4. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck

i agree with Mr Danger, just take the Express Bus. It may cost a bit more but it's much much easier and faster.

About Travel from Newark Liberty International Airport to the Exchange Place PATH Station in Jersey City, NJ

Travel from Newark Liberty International Airport to the Exchange Place PATH Station in Jersey City, NJ?
I will be doing this trip on a weekday, how much will the total fare be? Is this plan correct? 1) Take Airtrain to Newark International Airport Station 2) From Airport Station, take NJ Transit train to Newark Penn Station 3) From Newark Penn Station, take PATH rail to Exchange Place Station So I should take the bus to Newark Station? I don't know which option to do with me lugging around a carryon. What do you think?

You can do it that way, but it might be faster (and less expensive) to take a bus. NJ Transit used to have a bus directly from the airport to Newark Penn Station; not sure if it still does.
2 :
Step 1: New Jersey Transit #62 and #67 goes to Newark for $1.35 Fare Zone. Make sure to get on Newark-bound, because if you got on Perth Amboy/Toms River-bound, you'll have to paid additional fare. Step 2: Get off at Newark Penn Station, purchase $1.75 single ride PATH ticket and take World Trade center train to Exchange Place.
3 :
My friend, if you have a carry-on, my advice take the train, which is faster. The route that you stated in your question is correct. The total fare $9.50, which is broken down as followed: NJ Transit/Airtrain from EWR to Penn Station Newark: $7.75 PATH Rail from Penn Station Newark to Exchange Place $1.75 Please note, when purchasing your NJ Transit ticket at the Newark Airport train station, an access charge of $5.50 is include with the NJ Transit ticket. I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck
4 :
Famous NY answered this question best. I would follow her advice. Also, I know that those buses have a relatively large section you can place your luggage on behind the driver's area. As long as you're not taking the bus during rush hour, I'm sure there will be room for your luggage. I think you're allowed one large luggage bag and one small back pack to carry with you at your seat on that particular bus. It goes directly from Newark Airport to Newark Penn Station where you can take the PATH train. Don't waste your time or money by taking two additional trains from the airport. I know the 62 bus runs frequently. You can go to NJtransit.com and find its exact schedule on there. It goes to all Terminals A, B, and C.

take the subway
2 :
I would say take the bus from Newark to Manhattan - it is about $12 each way and makes various stops in Manhattan, including Penn Station, Port Authority, and Grand Central. Then, from Manhattan take the subway into Queens. Where you stop in Manhattan will depend on what subway line you need to take.
3 :
10 or 12$ shuttle to grandcentral or penn station- hop on the subwas (S line aka the shuttle) to Times Square and then hop the queens bound R-- get off at the Grand Avenue Newtown Station on Queens Boulevard. The subway costs $2- free transfer- so keep your card.

2 :
Newark airport to Laguardia? Why not just drive? It would be kinda expensive, since there are probably NO direct flights for such a short distance. Unless you have a friend there, and he/she owns a private aircraft, and they can get you to LaGuardia.
3 :
there's a bus, but see the Port Authority website for more options

Which direction does the Airtrain at Newark airport travel?
If i catch the airtrain at terminal B, would the next stop be terminal C? or are there different tracks for different directions? Appreciate all help Thanks Jerry my friend, it is AirTRAIN not AirTRAN (it is the monorail linking the 3 terminals at Newark)

Let's say for example that the Airtran gates are at terminal B at Newark. And let's say that you are going to Chicago. Well, if Airtran's terminal is terminal C for example there, Airtran will stop there. If the terminal there is terminal A, it will stop at terminal A. It's just whatever terminal houses the airline at that airport, the airline will go to.

Because of the time of your flight.... I would recommend you take the Super Shuttle Service. It's a shared van door-to-door service and it will cost you about $19. Make sure to reserve in advance. https://www.supershuttle.com 1-800-258-3826 Public Transportation will not get you to Newark in time for a 6am flight.

The airport has a monarail that goes to a train station. Here is the link. http://www.panynj.gov/airtrainnewark/ Click on from Newark Liberty - once on the page Select destination on the right in NY City
2 :
Hitchhike
3 :
You can get the AirTrain (free) from the Terminal to the train station. Then, catch a NJ Transit Train to Penn Station in NYC. Make sure you take NJ Transit, rather than Amtrak, as NJ Transit is way cheaper.
4 :
Cheapest way is to take the city bus from the airport to the PATH train and take that into Manhattan (World Trade Center). Once there, transfer to the subway to get where you want to go. You can take the AirTrain, transfer to the train to Penn Station for $11.55 http://www.ny.com/cgibin/frame.cgi?url=http://www.airtrainnewark.com/airtrainnewark/howmuch.index.html&frame=/frame/travel.html Or you can catch an Olympia Buss for $11 to Grand Central Station, Penn Station, or the Port Authority Bus Terminal. -
5 :
Public transit bus to Newark/Penn Station (yes, there is a Penn Station in Newark as well as one in NYC). At Newark/Penn Station get the PATH train ($1.50) into Manhattan. Two choices, the village and lower Manhattan, or West 33 Street. Either way, an easy connect to subway or bus in NYC.
6 :
You can take the free shuttle to the mall and there is a subway station there.
7 :
I would definitely take the shuttle from the airport to Newark train station and take NJ TRANSIT into Manhattan. IF you want to go to lower Manhattan take the PATH train from Newark train station. But, if you want to go to midtown take NJ transit to Penn station.

You have a few options but in my opinion, the most efficient and economical way would be to take the PATH train. To take the PATH you would need to get to the airport's train station. From there you can take a train, either AMTRAK or NJ Transit to Newark Penn Station. At that station you can pick up a PATH train to New York Penn Station. Another option would be to take AMTRAK or NJ Transit directly to New York's Penn Station, but this option will be more costly than my first suggestion. Of course you could always take the Super Shuttle or the Airport Express busses which will take you anywhere in midtown. Here is a handy link to the Port Authority website which can give you more info, including fares and schedules. Happy travels
2 :
Take the Airtrain to the NJ Transit Newark Liberty Airport station. From there get a NJ Transit train that is going to NY Penn Station [$15.00 fare per person - this includes the access fee from the Airtrain (which by itself would be $5.50)] There are ticket machines and posted timetables in the airport. http://www.panynj.gov/airtrainnewark/ When the page for the above link comes up select "From Newark Liberty" (on the left) of the page. On the next window in the "Trip Planner" box select NY-Midtown Manhattan. The resulting window will give you more information and other informational links.
3 :
Most cheapest option is to ask for New Jersey Transit #62 and wait for bus destination reads: NEWARK because "Perth Amboy" also stops at Terminal A, B and C. Newark Penn Station is last stop on #62 where you could connect to PATH for $1.50 (Soon to be $1.75). Since Newark Airport and Newark Penn Station is inside Fare Zone, it's $1.35. Dollar bills are accept.

Amtrak does that route for 50 bucks nonstop, it leaves at 3 from the terminal station (6pm on the weekend)- so you should have enough time if your not late, otherwise you can take greyhound.
